Light pollution awareness walk and its impact on the environment

The Transfrontier Natural Territory of Chiers and Alzette in short TNT Asbl (LU) and the City of Differdange invite you, as part of the Interreg VA Grande-Région project, “Smart Light-Hub”, to an awareness-raising walk light pollution and its impact on the environment, Thursday 8 October 2020, at 5.45 p.m.

As a reminder, the objective of the “Smart Light Hub” project is to create lighting that is more respectful of human health and the environment through field studies, exchanges between experts, professionals, users, etc. and workshops. co-creation with stakeholders.

As part of the activities of the project, the aim of this walk is to raise awareness among participants about light pollution and its impact on the environment. Its route will allow participants to discover the concept of light pollution and to travel through different areas where it is visible on the territory of the municipality of Differdange, but also to realize the efforts that have been made to reduce it.

The walk is organized in the Municipality of Differdange (LU), in partnership with the Our Natural Park, a partner of the project which will support us with its expertise throughout the journey. We will also have the pleasure of welcoming a bat expert who will allow us to hear these animals, which are very sensitive to light pollution.
